Keystone has a reputation, and it’s earned: it’s one of Colorado’s most family-friendly mountains. The mountain & villages
Terrain spans easy groomers up front to bowls and hike-to bumps in back across three peaks, so a mixed-ability group can all find their level. Two base areas — the walkable River Run Village at the gondola and Mountain House — put lodging, rentals, and food right at the lifts. In winter, Keystone Lake turns into one of the largest maintained outdoor ice rinks in the country.
Beyond the lifts
Come summer, the gondola serves up lift-accessed mountain biking and hiking, and you’re minutes from the rest of Summit County and its 14ers. Keystone also has a reputation for family events and festivals through the year.

Getting there
From Denver it’s about 90 minutes via I-70 to Exit 205, then US-6 up past Dillon. Watch I-70 traffic on weekends, and note the drive over Loveland Pass if you’re connecting to Arapahoe Basin.
